Undercarriage Care: Getting the Most Hours from Your UltraDrive Rollers

• Check for Seal Leaks — Oil weeping around the end caps means the seal has failed. A roller that loses its oil runs dry, seizes, and then wears flat on one side. Replace it before it takes the track rail with it.
• Look for Flat Spots — Every roller should turn freely by hand. One that has stopped rotating develops a flat, scalloped face and grinds against the inner rail of the track on every pass.
• Keep the Undercarriage Clean — Packed mud, rock, and debris grind between the roller and the rail. Wash the undercarriage out at the end of each day, especially in clay or wet conditions.
• Check Track Tension — Over-tensioned track drives load straight into the roller bearings. Under-tensioned track lets the chain slap and wears the roller flanges. Use the sag measurement in the operator manual for your machine.
• Replace in Sets Where You Can — A new roller sitting beside worn ones carries more than its share of the load and fails early. Replacing across an axle or a side keeps wear even.
