What Goes Into Every UltraArmor Solid Tire

Every UltraArmor solid tire is a bonded multi-layer assembly built to carry full rated load without air, so there is nothing to puncture and nothing to go flat.

  • Steel Bonding Band -- a machined steel band forms the mounting interface, pressed or bolted to your rim for a positive, slip-free fit.
  • Cushion Layer -- a softer intermediate rubber layer absorbs shock and vibration, recovering much of the ride comfort an air-filled tire provides.
  • Wear Tread Layer -- a high-durometer tread compound carries the load and resists cutting, chunking, and abrasion on debris-heavy surfaces.
  • Press-On or Bolt-On -- available in both configurations; confirm your rim type before ordering. Bolt-on tires are also called resilient tires.
  • Aperture or Smooth Sidewall -- apertured sidewalls add flex and cushioning for longer runs; smooth sidewalls maximize load capacity and stability.

Frequently Asked Questions

What solid tire fits my Bobcat ?
The Bobcat uses a solid tire. Solid tires are available in press-on and bolt-on configurations -- confirm your rim type before ordering. Use Ultratrack's Parts Finder by entering your Bobcat model number, or contact support at (866) 516-8473 to confirm the correct solid tire and configuration for your machine.
How long do solid tires last compared to pneumatic tires on Bobcat skid steers?
Solid tires typically outlast pneumatic tires on Bobcat skid steers used in demanding industrial environments. Solid tires have no air to lose and no risk of puncture, so they maintain consistent performance throughout their lifespan. On average, solid tires last 1.5 to 2 times longer than pneumatic alternatives in debris-heavy or high-cycle-rate applications.
What is the difference between press-on and bolt-on solid tires for Bobcat skid steers?
Press-on solid tires are pressed directly onto a smooth solid rim using a hydraulic press. Bolt-on solid tires (also called resilient tires) are attached to a rim with bolts and can be field-replaced without a press. Bobcat solid tires use a press-on configuration. If you are unsure, check your rim type or contact Ultratrack at (866) 516-8473 before ordering.
Can Bobcat solid tires be used on both indoor and outdoor surfaces?
Bobcat solid tires are engineered for skid steers operating on hard, smooth, or lightly textured surfaces including concrete floors, asphalt yards, loading docks, and warehouse aisles. They are not recommended for soft ground, mud, or extremely uneven terrain -- for those conditions, pneumatic tires provide better traction and ride quality.
Do Bobcat solid tires require maintenance?
Bobcat solid tires require minimal maintenance compared to pneumatic tires. There is no inflation pressure to check and no risk of puncture. Inspect solid tires regularly for chunking, cracking, or flat spots -- signs that replacement is needed. Ultratrack recommends inspecting tires every 250 operating hours and replacing them before chunking compromises stability.
